Scott was born in southern California and moved to the small town of Vale, Oregon, when he was 11. After graduating high school, he served a 2-year mission in Guatemala for his church. Upon returning home from his mission, he met his wife and shortly after marriage began his college career. Scott attended TVCC and BYU, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in English Literature. He then attended law school at the University of Idaho College of Law, where he received an academic invitation to be on law review and graduated at the top of his class. Upon graduation, he worked at a firm in Coeur d’Alene, specializing in business law and estate planning. In 2007, Scott moved to Boise to open his law practice where he has been for the last twelve years, specializing in family law, estate planning, and business matters.
Through maintaining a successful law practice, Scott developed a passion for helping those in need. That, coupled with his love of financial strategy, made Scott a great fit for investment advising. Through daily close contact, Scott developed a strong relationship with Legacy and meshed well with its model. Eager to expand his professional experience, he joined the Legacy team. His legal background and experience provide a specialized backdrop from which he advises clients.
When not working, Scott is either serving in his church or with his family--working outside, fishing, or simply spending quality time together. Scott enjoys fly fishing (and tying flies), camping, woodworking, shooting, reading, classic vinyl, and many other hobbies.
